Therapeutic Approach

My approach draws from several therapeutic orientations with an emphasis on practical tools and self-awareness to support growth and healing. I aim to empower clients to become active participants in their therapy.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Using CBT, I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and learn to challenge and reframe them in more balanced and constructive ways.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): DBT was originally developed for individuals with intense emotional experiences. I use components of this therapy to help clients regulate intense emotions without becoming overwhelmed, learn how to cope with crisis situations, and develop effective communication strategies to build and maintain healthy relationships.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT is a values-driven therapy that helps clients live a more purposeful life. By shifting the relationship with painful emotions, clients can align with their deepest values.

  • Mindfulness-Based Strategies: By helping clients cultivate greater awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of their internal experiences, mindfulness enhances emotional resilience and self-compassion.
